Tony's thoughts and scores for Week 6
Double Score week is always a scary one, I think! Today, I’ll let you all know what I thought of the dance, as well as how I would have scored it!

GERARD & NATALIE
First things first, I feel like this song was a bitt odd to use as a Tango, but in a way, I can see it working. I’m thinking the perfect score from last week might have set the expectation level for these two a bit higher. And while going first isn’t so much of a bad thing by this time in the competition, I think he might have been able to get a slightly higher score if he had danced later on. Overall, a good effort from Gerard, but obviously not his best.

CARRIE & DEREK
Another fun routine from these two for sure! I think, however, Carrie might be more of a technical dancer than she is a performer. Yeah, she sings and performs that way for a living, but dancing would be another world for her. I also fear that Carrie might be plateauing from that breakout  dance of her Jive from Week 3. I’m hoping that she can really blow us away next week if she’s safe! I want more from these two!

ALI & VAL
Well, I have to admit: The Paso Doble was the dance I was dreading for the sweet and charming Ali. It just seems like it would be the complete opposite of her personality. I think her nerves might kicked in gear once again, because I think she would be aware of how aggressive this dance is. However, I think she might have been like Carrie in that respect. I could see her technique being decent, but her performance might have suffered from the nerves.
TECHNIQUE: 8
PERFORMANCE: 7

SIGOURNEY & TRISTAN

As sad as it is to say, I think Sigourney’s on her way out after this dance. She’s finally back in Latin, but it’s the slowest Latin dance, so again, I see some sameness from these two. I don’t think her hips would have been as good for the rumba, and I just don’t see Sigourney’s technique being up to as snuff as everyone else's.
TECHNIQUE: 6
PERFORMANCE: 7

JOSH &  LACEY

Well, I would definitely label this as Josh’s best performance! I think finally we’re seeing him act and dance at the same time! Sadly, I think he still has a lot to work on with his technique, but I’m positive he’ll be back next week to do just that!

PERFORMANCE: 8

USHER & KARINA

I think the only reason Usher’s technical scores are so low is that he still might be working out some of his hip hop dancing, but I think he’s improving. I have to disagree with everyone else. I think he’s improving past just all 8s in terms of technique, and I think he’s beginning to learn how to act a little as well! I hope he’s back next week so he can really break into the top three!

PERFORMANCE: 9

KIELY & HENRY

Whooooooo! Haha! Kiely was definitely a girl on fire with this rumba!! Without a doubt Kiely’s best dance of the season! I think this has just opened the threshold of what Kiely could reach! This definitely should get the encore on Sunday! Keep it up Kiely, because I know she’s got more 30s in
her future.
TECHNIQUE: 9
PERFORMANCE: 10

MARK & KYM

I’m a bit conflicted saying that Kiely should have the encore, because this dance was just as equally great from Mark! Cheeky, fun and a really enjoyable dance from these two! And it was only fitting that Mark danced to a song from his rapping days! He, like Kiely, has just unleashed his full potential!

TEAM GERARD

SCORE: 8
On paper, this team definitely is the stronger team. However, I'm beginning to think that the reason it didn't win the Team Dance challenge was because of the fact that it might have had a couple mistakes here and there! Sure, this team has the stronger dancers, but that doesn't mean they are immune to mistakes! It was fun, but I think that...

TEAM MARK

SCORE: 10
Definitely blew Team Gerard away. I think this team knew that they didn't have that much to lose, so they just went out there and had fun! Plus, you can't go wrong with a party song like the one they were given! Over all fun and entertainment is what earned Team Mark a 10 from me!
