Tony wraps up his thoughts for the season
So Season 11 wrapped up earlier today! I have to say, this has been one of the greatest seasons I’ve been apart of! On Friday, I predicted our Final 3 to end up in this order:
3rd: Gerard & Natalie
2nd: Mark & Kym
1st: Carrie & Derek
So, how’d I do?
I think Gerard placing third was the only given here. Like I said in Friday’s post, a trip to the bottom two most likely cost Gerard his shot at the trophy. But really, I enjoyed him all throughout the season, and I was thrilled when you guys voted him into the Finals! Honestly, I think it was a combination of last’s week’s results and his Freestyle that cost Gerard his shot at the trophy.
Then we come to Carrie & Derek and Mark & Kym. I told you guys that I thought Carrie was clearly the more popular choice than Mark and selected her as the winner of Season 11. But, I am happy to say that I’m wrong! Mark & Kym were unstoppable and I think a lot of us knew he was going to make the finals, if not win, right from the start. We’ve seen top scorers lose the trophy to someone more popular before, so I guess that’s why I thought Mark was going to land in second place. As for Carrie, I think it’s pretty awesome that she exceeded expectations! If this were a real competition, both she and Derek would be proud of their finish, no doubt!
Well, that’s it for Season 11! I think I’ll be back for Tony’s Thoughts in Season 12, but if not, then it was fun telling you guys what I thought of the competition! I’ll still be a judge though!
